Of the many, many books I've read related to WWII air combat, three stand out as my all-time favorites, I think mostly because of the candor and wit of the authors. The first is "The Wrong Stuff" by Truman Smith.

Same experience here on WarClouds...take off, fly around, and get smoked by a Luftwaffe team that's been flying Fw-190s since day one. Late war plane set is getting old also. Oh yeah, the admin doesn't like my name, "Knutsac". Says it's offensive and I have to change it; I refuse and no longer fly WarClouds. What could be more offensive than simulating the hunting and killing of other humans?

I'm pretty new to all this, but tend to agree with Sunflower: "Why not just take our party where the real fun is? We can use our own comms and fly in somebody else's sky. If we run into cheaters the strength in numbers could at least make it clear that that's what's happening. Some of those fighter jocks would probably love an chance to try to stop a squad intent on wiping out their ground targets with a coordinated effort. If we're half as good, we just need twice as many. When we've got that many players, our arrival would set the tone of the game, probably." I'd love to be part of a coordinated effort on one of the HL servers (Winds of War, etc). I'm a bit tired of flying these free-for-alls by myself waiting for some ace to kill me. I've flown a couple of pick-up Coops on HL and had a pretty good time, even without comms and not knowing the other pilots. How does one go about being the host for a HL Coop?
