  1. I had a Premonition about Duxford today.

    I struggling though who's Future I'm witnessing.

    Painless possibly.

  2. Painless...my cell phone doesn't have roaming for the UK so won't work.

I'll rely on the old fashioned way to find you...listen for "Oi! Look at the t*ts on that one!"

    ~S~ JP,

OK M8, you can always give me a ring from a land line and as Mr "Van der Full Throttle" has suggested we can start a thread with all relevant phone numbers or send Pms as uncle Nick has suggested.

Failing that I to will rely on the old fashioned method and listen out for ...."gee that guy MUST work out ! " :thumbsu:

    ~S~ Swep M8,

I remember the incident...great pic but isn't that a Frenchman attacking the spectators? (great hair style though) LOL

At least in F1 when they attack the crowd they usually kill them.....

    ~S~ Painful.

  6. ~S~ Fine fellows,

What still amazes me is the fact that most of England still gets behind a team playing a sport which we haven't been much good at for decades ! Bloody George Cross flags with "England" written across them for the seriously dim flying from BMWs, Audis, Hondas, Toyotas, Peugeots, Renaults etc.

Rugby, we are good at, (world cup winners and runners up).

Motorsport we are good at, (two formula 1 world champions finishing first and second at the Canadian GP this weekend, McLaren leading the constructors championship ).

Cycling we are good at, (awsome Olympic squad ) but no flags on cars or houses. LOL?? Football is a ladies game played by walking hair styles ! Other than that I think it 's great ! :roflmao:

There is the grenade now where is the explosion ? LOL

  7. I am at a loss with this.

For a couple of months our main email address that we both use has been sending out an email advertising viagra to all the contacts in that account. It does it once a week and it is becoming a REAL PITA. It's a 'Hotmail' account. Is it best to delete it and start again?

I think it came from an email that was sent to us that we opened that has since been deleted.

I've tried Avira, MalwareBytes, AVG and ALL come back having found nothing.

How do I find out where it is and how do I get rid of this feckin' thing please?

    Cheerzen

    Sid (feeling very) Viscious

    ~S~ Skid M8,

No problems here , I just ordered 300 of the little blue buggers !!! Thanks for the opportunity M8 :thumbsu:

  8. Ellow chaps!

I'm sorry to inform on me not attending this year, but will do my best for next!

Instead, I have to go to the war and peace show this year...

Indeed, have, I'm going to run around there with some special recording devices, needed for the tanksim project I'm part off since more then a year.

Have a good one, will be with you in thoughts!

Still have jabo's phone n°, so prolly will be bugging him to say hi to you lot, on the day you're all together having fun :D

    ~S~ Sgedly M8,

Very sorry to hear that you can't make it this year . We will have a drink for you OK !!

Have fun and get on here and fly once in a while. :thumbsu:

  9. My fave all time author for non-fiction is Antony Beevor.

Currently I'm reading his great book D-Day: The Battle for Normandy.

He's written great books on Stalingrad, the fall of Berlin, Crete and the Spanish Civil War.

Seeing as he's based in London, I thought I'd send him a note inviting him to join us for a beer in July while we are there.

    His reply:

    Dear Mr McCauley,

Many thanks for your kind letter and apologies for such a slow reply,

but I have been away. Sadly I will not be in London on 8 July, but I

hope you have a good visit to the Normandy battlefields. The very small

fields of the bocage have almost disappeared so one has to use one's

imagination a bit on what the 'dirty bush war' was really like.

    All best wishes

    Antony Beevor

Too bad he won't be around, but I thought it was neat that he replied. I've exchanged e-mails with him asking him to let us know of any special spots to visit in Normandy out of the usual museums etc. Will keep ya' informed.

    ~S~ JP ,

    Nicely done !

I admier your spunk sir, (and I'm sure by the end of the Duxford weekend Jedi will to ). :roflmao:

Does Mr Beevor deal with the aeriel aspect of Normandy or The Spannish Civil War in any detail ?

  10. ~S~ Sweper M8,

Very nice pics and VERY nice equipment The Swedish fire service is renowned for being well ahead of most countries in both proceedures and kit. Your positive pressure aggressive ventilation techniques are superb and we all have plenty to learn from your guys !

I see the "triangle of fire" is up on the board in the lecture room, you know it should be the "square of fire" .......fuel, heat, oxygen, an officer...... take any ONE away and the fire goes out !!! :roflmao:

    Nice post M8. :thumbsu:

  11. ~S~ Skidders,

Yes we have had a go at exploiting jet reaction on several occasions. Usually down at Southse sea front on a sunny day for maximum errrr.......PR effect ? LOL

A raft was constructed something like yours using empty foam cans for buoyancy. This we ran with the Light Portable Pump in the castle mote . Steering was the main problem resulting in various crashes and sinkings due to the relative immovability of the stone mote walls ! Also crew members had often eaten too many cakes so the displacement was too great :roflmao:

That flying idea might just work though ..............4x 1" nozzles, 5000Ltr/min pump, 10 Bar , 1x naked firefighter (inverted)............ :thumbsu:

    ~S~ Painful.

  12. ~S~ Arthur M8,

    Bloody brilliant !

That's a lovely little plane and about twice as fast as the one I get to fly sometimes !! Is Rick going to fit a trim tab to one of the wings to sort out the level trim ?

It's easy to see why some folks get the "bug" for flying isn't it M8 ! :thumbsu:

    Thanks for the post.

    ~S~ Painless

  13. ~S~ Bucky M8,

Sounds like a familier story, arse wipe driver on mobile phone causes chaos ! I'm glad you and the other boys were OK.

I don't know if this would be any use to you guys but what the Fire Service do here to protect crews at the side of the road is to use the "fend off" parking method...........
