  1. as a long time collector of comics (which are sitting in storage to act as my boys university fund) I'm pissed they would 'kill off' such a character just for publicity... like that stupid bit killing off superman. On the other hand, well done Glenn! Pretty cool.
  2. LOL...was just typing a response and got a message that a new response was posted... check it out and see Dave responded to you... I'm heading to bed at 11pm here and fellow DD is just getting up for the day probably...8 hours apart and people are still helping. what a great squad...
  3. i'll be on hl tonight 9pm pst if anyone is around...
  4. yea, Bill and John 2 is incredible. by far the funniest, cleverist vid out there.
  5. I watched all his episodes on YouTube whilst at work, as you do! You got to check them out... Episode 1 - Part 1 of 5 - Moab desert http://youtube.com/watch?v=4dDlWoqN28c Stuff he does in series... [*:3ubzy4ge]Eats a raven's egg, shell and all [*:3ubzy4ge]Squeezes elephant poo to drink the fluid, whilst in Africa. [*:3ubzy4ge]Eats fish, snakes and dead zebra meat, all raw! [*:3ubzy4ge]Parachutes into jungle canopy [*:3ubzy4ge]Jumps from helicopter into Pacific and swims miles of shark-infested waters to a deserted island [*:3ubzy4ge]Kicks Chuck Norris' ass! I was elaborating with one of them in that list. But it COULD be true! You forgot the toughest thing he did: - stole a sip of scotch from BG's glass and lived to tell about it.
  6. man, you guys had some luck there...for us non-anglers: what is a bonefish and jack?
  7. yea, he was living there before he came over here.
  8. I think from Aberdeen area? funny, he mentioned he came out alot because he wanted to escape the crowds...the 3 hour commutes and something I didn't think still existed: class distiction. He mentioned that when doing work or applying, etc when they heard his accent he felt they wrote him off as just someone nobody from Scotland.
  9. thanks Dave - but never mind...found the problem. it was the dolt sitting in front of the computer. somehow in 'controls', the mouse wheel (which I use for prop pitch) was setter for elevator control.
  10. ok, bizarre. You'll recall my nice takeoff two weeks back: in the second mission with the 352nd...thought it was a bug as I hit massive speed (partially underground) on take off but wasn't able to leave the ground. 3rd mission I nosed up on take off. Now, never flying 4.04 anymore except for SEOW I figured first was a bug, and second was my usual flying incompetence. well today I decided to do some 2 on 8 qmb P47 vs Spit cw for prep for tomorrow and found lo and behold my x45 has no elevator control in 4.04 or 4.05. Works perfectly fine in 4.08 but not 4.04/05.
  11. Hey dave: OT: spent yesterday and today with a consultant for the hotel...he's a Scot who came over just 3 years ago. With his accent, it was just like having you in the room! People couldn't figure out why I was giggling so much.
  12. IMHO a great movie... I know the ubizoo reviews have been pretty negative, but I have to say Clint did one hell of a good job. Good part action, good part drama on the story of the surviving 3 who raised the flag on Iwo Jima. Well worth the download or admission price...
  13. this was forwarded to me by an older friend who was a lifer in the Cdn army...making its round on the net it seems... The Real Story - A letter from Kandahar This letter was forwarded by Mansfield residents Ruth and Gary Brown. It was written by their son Steve, who is a member of the Canadian forces fighting in Afghanistan. To All: I apologize for the generic letter, but these days I don't have a lot of time to sit at a computer drafting specific words of thanks to all the people who have offered me overwhelming support.
  14. "please" is the magic word. As in, Please don't kill me Chuck Norris. Unfortunately, Chuck Norris doesn't believe in magic.
  15. Just finished reading Kittyhawk Pilot, about Canadian James Edwards - top scoring Africa allied pilot (and by Africa I'm not counting Malta). It describes, like many other allied pilot memoirs, of the huge losses they endured to their fighters - and the high scores of German aces. One thing I always notice is the how they always described their battles as sticking to the mission - groundpounding low, sticking with the bombers, etc - and how the Germans always played the b'n'z from high - engaged and disengaged at will.
  16. well I feel better now... flew zeke vs wildcat Monday night with fellow k9's Sged, Shak, SF, Rattler and Ritter Cuda. managed two kills, and several tanks killed while flying a Tony... I tell you, when we get 4 or 5 K9's together on comms on HL, we can be pretty darn good - even in a full switch setting that we normally don't fly...
  17. how'd we do? I'm so pissed at myself I am swearing off the game for a week. I've booked next Sunday for family stuff just to make sure.

    ugh...

sorry all...that was a pathetic display of noob-ism... crashing on take off and then taking out redeye... let you guys down...sorry.
  19. 102 includes the voices in our heads...there are really just 3 of us.
  20. ok, that was better than "not my time to die". Loved the missle dropping off...'whoops, wrong switch' and the "plane of the year" ad
  21. wheres "unemployed, 40, single and living in Mom's basement...flying IL2 only when I can't get on a decent warcraft server" ?
  22. well do we really need 4.05?...or just the 4.04 and 4.08 then I guess...
