  1. ....yesterday was the first anniversary of the K9 Squadrons web presence. That was a quick year! Stats are quite impressive too: [*:2gryhstp]Total Members:
  2. It was linked to Maddox's own server, this has been done before and deleted before for that reason. However.... The Patch Found It's Way Here
  3. Uploading to vault as I type, will take a little while but it'll be there. I may mirror for the community at large on my other server too.

Hi Crash First, do you want me to change your forum name to Crash? (I can change login too if you wish). You will need to be able to switch between 4.05, 4.05 and 4.071, there is a triple switcher for this and you may already have it. If not then instructions and a link to it will no doubt magically appear here . We do use CEM, so make sure you have key mappings for pitch, mixture and super chargers. We also do multi-engine so check you have the requisite mappings to select up to four engines independently. Coms wise we have key bindings for 'whisper' to select channels, primarily for SEOW campaign with 352nd. Can't find the thread for that But we can talk you through that on TS any way . Usually externals are on, but there seems to be a general consensus towards externals off, if they are off we usually have a dogfight server up that 'dead' pilots can hop into pending the co-op mission end (main reason why externals are left on is so us ghosts have something to watch ). Looking forward to seeing you in the skies .
  7. No worries Dave, the forum software is new to you but you will soon get the hang of it
  8. The cracking in the beak you see is natural flaking, caused as the beak grows (they grow constantly hence the wood demolishing they do to keep them in trim). They can suffer a condition where large flakes come off, this is usually a sign of diet deficiency. No this bird was not locked in a room for 5 years, she was bounced from home to home and became aggressive as a result. She had 6+ homes in 6 months...not good as they take 4 - 6 weeks to settle . This is the bird that was kept locked up for 5 years: She is 10 yrs old. [attach=1] The one on the right is what she should look like: [attach=2]
  9. ~S~ Deacon, and to the 352nd too. By all accounts it was an intense night and one that was thoroughly enjoyed. I'm looking forward to taking to the air in perhaps the next one, pretty difficult when so many want to partake but turns we must take. I see the stats are up and the numbers tell a tale of balance IMHO. Did your guys leave any bridges standing?
  10. Look at that beak size...compared to the hand. Not sure what the nose picking bit is about though, she does that a lot - I think it's a form of restraint 'cos she realy wants to bite Yeah smile was genuine, she had just finished preening my eyelashes (after plucking a couple of stray whiskers from my face) so I knew she was going to be cool. Either that or having her tongue stuck down my ear put me at ease!
  11. Some one asked how the birds were doing, so here you go some shots of Charlie the Can-Opener with a four and a half foot wingspan. She's 8 and couldn't be handled 7 weeks ago.. [attach=1] Getting a scritch from Jane [attach=2] You looking at me? [attach=3] Another scritch just there where I'm pointing! [attach=4] I'm the good looking one on the right
  12. My...locked pit is becoming popular around here I'm all for it and was very pleasantly surprised when DT put up a locked pit server last week . 128 furball...now that sounds like fun, so long as the server can actually handle it of course!

    monitors

I attached my PC to my 37" TV. Resolution sucked, fine if you are 20' + away though . Unlike PC monitors they tend to offer lower res, even the HD variants, maximum of 1080 x
  14. Shame I missed CG. And then whilst waiting for the invincibles to end their co-op, after I had so characteristically augured early, I thought I'd do a spot of web browsing. Ooops. IL2 crashed, 'never mind' I said to myself 'I'll restart the PC and be back with them in no time'. How wrong, bloody PC wouldn't shut down so thoroughly were it's knickers twisted, when I finally resorted to the reset button I deemed it appropriate to run a check disk..doh! Took bloody ages, but it did correct three errors. Oh well, there is always tomorrow (Saturday) night and then Sunday...
  15. lol humour running true to form here I'm awaiting re-activation of my account for the campaign, and I am sure it will be fixed imminently as Oscar does a stirling job.
  16. Welcome Bear Thanks for the increased work load, 'recruiting thingy wouldn't work', sheesh.....
  17. If you also fire up a cmd prompt and do the following it stays gone: Regsvr32 /U Msimtf.dll Regsvr32 /U Msctf.dll See: Microsofts own article on this
  18. New drive time, and a chance to experiment with Knoppix if you need to recover any data...
  19. Aborting check disk will not cause damage, however it needs to be run. Sounds like your disk has suffered physical failure, and will need to be replaced. There are several utilities that can be used to recover data if the disk is readable. Knoppix is pretty good, but the other distros also have live CDs. As this is an XP laptop I will assume it is ntfs formatted, so you won't be able to read from a dos boot disk. Knoppix will mount the disk, if readable, and should also be able to get the network up and running for file transfer. Alternatively Knoppix can read and write to USB drives, easier if they are plugged in when you boot.
