    New wingman

Well it just said hello after I got back from the pet shop with some food for it. So yes they can talk, apparently not the best of talkers! Sitting on my shoulder as I type this

    New wingman

Arrival todaywas raucous, being buzzed by three crows: Having a pre-sortie rest after being coaxed out of the tree by me: Beady eye looking for bandits and some flight tips being whispered into my ear: Don't know what sex it is, but believe it is a Ara militaris or Military Macaw born last year (about 9-10 months old). I guess if it doesn't get claimed we have just got a £1000+ pet And boy can it bite when it gets ratty...now fast asleep on Jane's shoulder.

    What a babe!

Not too bad Glenn, I haven't read the manual for quite a while though. But combined with our web server here and facilities @ home (for both Bbloke and myself) I'm pretty sure we can get a package together pretty soon.

    What a babe!

The nature of it is we could do one or two missions, then do something totally different. Then return to it a week or days later and pick up where we left off. Not unlike the sort of thing Glenn has been doing, but in a Co-Op setting and with persistence. With the skills we have within the squad, mission building as well as the mechanics behind this campaign system, we should be able to produce something pretty damn good! And of course it can be shared back to the SEOW project by giving them any templates we produce that work well.
  7. Further to the post above, if skins are pre-shared then we can all dress in our finery. I don't know if skin uploads would still have to be on to show other players skins, but if they are already in your net cache then there will be no lag induced by someone needing to upload them. Some of our guys are on dial-up, so this should be considered! And my connection is pretty close to dial up speed (ok it isn't but it sure feels like it!).
  8. Well it got you in here didn't it! Any one interested in giving this a whirl? We have the technology and know-how for it, and for sure the enthusiasm to fly it. From Scorched Earth Online War pages:
  9. In the back woods where I live, a massive 7 miles away from the nearest town, cable is not in place. Therefore we have no choice but to use copper owned and managed by BT. Some consider it advantageous to buy their Broadband through BT, following the theory that it is BT's cable therefore they don't have to deal with a 'middle man' when faults arise and will enjoy better service. Unfortunately that is not the case, BT's call centre (in India of course) will pedantically follow their script for issue resolution and will only defer to technical support when the script branch dictates it. Using a 'Middle Man', Demon in my case, has distinct advantages. Whilst they too follow scripts they are at least written in English, and talking to a tech is easier to do. Also as they are a corporate client of BT's they have much bigger boots than us mere peons. The latest on my situation is that neighbours have also experienced similar reliability problems, and it has been found that cabling at one of the roadside boxes has been damaged. It would appear that mine got damaged whilst repairing some-one else's. Or they swapped my line!! Any UK guys reading this, if you think your ADSL is not up to par run the speedtester link I posted above, this will populate a database with the results against your 'phone number. BT will only take a look after five such tests are done. For now I can't run the test, as the 1.7Mb download brings my link down!! Web site updates from me will have to wait until this is resolved, or I could use my mobile 'phone as a modem I suppose
  10. My ISP is Demon, they used to manage my broadband connection and I got a healthy 529 down and 246 up, consistent and reliable. Got upgraded to 2Mb down 836Kb up and these are the results, just got to love BT... It took me nearly six hours of 'phone calls and 'official' speed tests before a technician at my ISP agreed that a 230Kb download was not an upgrade. He should not have logged it as a fault though, BT (who own and manage the cabling) stipulate that a fault is when there is a variation of more than 30% of the stable download speed. A speed that is arrived at pro grammatically with some clever software and monitoring at the exchange. This testing regime had deemed that my connection could only support a maximum download of 230Kbs, yet an upload of 670Kbs was fine. So the download speed was fixed, and no they would not re-run the testing regime. That was the best I can expect 'sorry sir'. 'Ermm...this is ADSL isn't it?' I asked, 'You know Asynchronous Digital Subscribe Line, as in downloads faster than it uploads'. Silly me, they are after all the telecommunications company, I'm just the stupid git paying £40 inc tax for this service which is, and I quote from the ISP page Thankfully http://www.speedtester.bt.co.uk logged a download of a whopping 79Kbs this morning. Even BT can't argue that is within limits! I can't even guarantee being able to pick up emails at them moment, the connection is so sporadic, whilst I was tapping this out (can't really describe it as typing ) my router has re-negotiated to Downstream Rate: 160 Kbps Upstream Rate: 192 Kbps I don't think I will be on-line much this week Ok rant off...
  11. Sorry Dave, that was uncalled for. Please accept my apologies, and thanks for uploading them
  12. I have moved them into the 'Skins' folder. Too tired to edit you rlinks, please use correct category when uploading. Ta.
  13. Use the photobucket account Mentioned here It's a fully paid up one with 5Gb storage available and 50Gb bandwidth pm Or use our image gallery, I can create a section for you if you wish.
  14. It's too late m8.... Oh OK, it's not Look forward to seeing you there, I'm not sure how the team balance is working. And as far as I know there is no plan, except to have no plan!!!
  15. B16Enk

    Dammit!!!

Good luck M8, fingers crossed for you It will be good to see you back!
  16. I'm having an early senior moment. Or sporadic dyslexia. Or both...considering it says quite clearly 'Enforcer57' and I managed to write it as 'Enforcers Brief 9/13 2006'.... Sorry Enforcer!
  17. More brilliance from our Propaganda Officer. Another 'Article' in the making, adds to the interesting reads on our site?
  18. Ok, I put it here: On the Home Page Hope you don't mind m8, it's such a bloody good read. You have a real talent for this, and in that format it can be emailed and/or printed It can of course be taken off line if you wish.
  19. Bugger. Just wrote your brief up as an article, all images titled and alt texted. Hit the 'Submit Article' and the bloody thing asked me to log-in again. Even more annoying was I had taken the precaution of ctrl+a incase anything went wrong, and then goofed by copying the screen for the user guide. Lost an hour or so's work I've changed the timeout, it may not work though. Do a ctrl+a and ctrl+c on long articles, it will save some hair...
  20. LMAO, photobucket is currently undergoing maintenance! Just saw Zeus-Cats post on GD, his image had a place holder
  21. Like JP says, yup! As you well know now Screenies for it could be uploaded to our gallery, I can make a section specific to it if you want. Advantage is that it would load so long as the page referring to it (this site) loads and would not fail if photobucket is down. Disadvantage is that it would use some of our bandwidth. Choice is yours
  22. Hey Shadow M8, your de-briefs would make great articles on the web pages, mind if I have a go at putting this one and the last one up? I can document the procedure and make that available too .
  23. LOL JP, an alternate punch line could be: 'Mister, it's the sheep we're disgusted with, really low hooking up with a lawyer'. Sorry Cold_Gambler
