  1. Happy Birthday Jabo - Had anything nice?
  2. Its just the voices in my head Slicker. Arthur, Love it.. soooo pleased you didn't take any offence about me questioning your advice... so many conflicting reports but decided to give it a go and, of course, you're absolutely right... triple screens and a wide range of resolutions are supported. Looks good - I have configured my controllers and just need to gather a list of essential keyboard commands so that I can see about getting off the ground!
  3. Hi Arthur, Thanks for getting back to me... Thought I'd ask - I'd rather be safe than sorry... I'm thinking of trying it out having seen a Steam key at a good price but I've read loads of complaints that BOS doesn't work right with three screens. People say the menu's aren't centred properly and other graphical things aren't in the right place. Maybe these comments are a little out of date and refer to earlier versions of the game - dunno for sure. Need to ask... no offence intended but just to clarify, do you have triple screens and BOS or are you going by what you've heard?
  4. Hi Guys, Quick question... Anyone know if the latest version of BOS supports triple screens?
  5. Thanks Jack... I like the guy's idea to sign an on-line petition so I've just posted a new topic on our site to canvass further support.
  6. Hi Guys, A number of us are caught up in this ridiculous situation - Saitek Controllers not functioning properly after upgrading to Windows 10. Today, I emailed a personal contact who holds a responsible position at Saitek UK. I have explained that I am writing on behalf of myself and fellow members of this forum who are effected by this issue. I have asked him to confirm if Saitek are aware of these issues and, if they are currently working on new drivers and HUD software, when it will be released. I will provide an update as soon as I receive a reply. In the meantime, something we can do is take a few minutes to sign this on-line petition - who knows... this may just 'do the trick'.... http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/933/160/890/ slicker55 (petitioner #300)
  7. Hi Snacko, I was waiting for you to turn up....err... well, with the upgrade, Helios was already there (haven't needed to actually install it so can't say) but there is a 'Helios' issue caused by the reassignment of controllers. This only applies if you have a physical controller/switch linked to a virtual switch in the Helios profile. Let's say you have set it up so that when you flick a toggle on the X-55 throttle, a switch on the touchscreen changes position. This will no longer work until it's been fixed. In this case, when you 'open' the Helios editor, you'll notice the original interfaces don't work anymore - the row of red lights for each button etc, is no longer there. You have to 'add a new interface' for each controller you wish to use (notice they all have a '1' after there name now). You then have to 're-do' the appropriate 'action' (e.g. the binding between the physical and virtual switch) and it will then work... hope this makes sense / it can be difficult to put some things into words. You may not have used Helios in this way but I mention it just in case someone else finds this useful.
  8. Hi all, Further to my earlier post following my upgrade from 7 to 10, I have now discovered a few more problems which you may wish to take into consideration before deciding whether or not to upgrade at the moment. I have the Saitek X-55 Rhino HOTAS system and Combat Rudder Pedals with the latest drivers and HUD software installed. As previously stated, after upgrading I had to re-assign all axis's for each of my games - bear in mind this will be necessary on a per-plane basis for DCSW - quite a task so, for the time being I have just done my SU-25T. Having done this, I thought everything was OK but then I discovered some of the buttons on my stick don't work 'in-game' anymore. e.g. trigger, pinky and small button behind it. On the throttle, once again, some buttons don't work 'in-game'. e.g. red button (assigned to PTT for Teamspeak) and, for some reason toggle switch (SW6) - all the other toggles work fine? I mention 'in-game' because everything works when tested in the HUD software although some single key commands are constantly repeated. (This behaviour appears to be intermittent). I believe Saitek are aware of these issues and say that new drivers/software will be released but there is no indication as to when! In the meantime, despite warming to Windows 10, I am considering rolling-back to Windows 7 where I know everything works properly.
  9. Now I bet I couldn't do that again... it must be windows 10! hahahahhahahah
  10. Hi Jack, Thanks for the tip re. CLOD / SweetFX... I too have upgraded my gaming rig from Win 7 to 10 (only issue - had to reconfigure/save controller settings for each game) Not been around for a while - just returned from holiday, upgraded OS, got all my racing sims (mods etc) up-to-date and now back on the flying scene. Catch up with you soon, Cheers, John
  11. Snacko, You beat me to it - I thought... yeah... I know the answer to this one! A GREAT explanation.
  12. Yes, I have to agree... another great addition to his collection. He really does pay attention to detail and captures everything so well. I have tried all his profiles - I just love them - they are so exciting! Oh, just want to mention that I came across one of your posts earlier today... the one where you show how you made an extension for your HOTAS - I don't have the Warhog but nevertheless, well done... very clever - the end result was like a factory part - very impressed.
  13. Thanks Guys, Very thoughtful of you all - yes, had a great time - just returned from a driving holiday in Europe.
  14. I usually wait by the door and tell her not to rush!
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKIy0UoB7dQ David Green Sir said he’d ring back at 4pm… ummm… still waiting… must be tied up on another call!
  16. Hi Jabo, EFM had me also wondering - thanks for asking... I learned something new. Hi Snacko, Nice find - interesting stuff - cheers.
  17. Thanks Snacko for this info... it's $44.99 (after discount).... ummmm, me waiting for a sale!
  18. Came across this nice little on-line tool which let's you compare different frames rates. Have a play around and you'll discover that you can change the scenery, add/remove the moving images and change various settings. This is an interesting tool which goes some way to answer the old question as to whether the human eye can detect any difference above 60fps. https://frames-per-second.appspot.com Enjoy!
  19. Hi KG26Alpha, Thanks for the heads-up on this... I wish the weather forecast was better for this weekend as I would be up for having a ride over. You never know, they might have it wrong - If it's nice might just turn up at the gate.
  20. A nice list of Chucks guides for the connoisseur https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-uSpZROuEd3MmJ4QVZJNUVDdTg/edit
  21. I thought DCSW2 was going to be free like the current version of DCSW but then I read this update and formed the impression they were going to charge for DCSW2. Having read it again (and other stuff on the DCSW forum) I now think they're just referring to a training map that was originally promised with the A-10C. Hence, FREE for those that purchased the A-10C beta (before the specified date) but also available via their e-store for those that want to buy it.
